As the leading membership organisation for foster carers and their families, FosterTalk is committed to supporting them so that they can offer the highest standards of care and ensure positive outcomes for the children they care for.

In a constantly changing and challenging environment, foster carers and fostering organisations need to keep pace with changes to regulations and guidance, policy and practice and the needs of children with a variety of complex needs and circumstances.

FosterTalk offers a wide range of training courses, focus days and events to meet these needs and to ensure that foster carers feel valued and well supported in the highly important role that they play.

These courses will introduce newer carers to some key issues in fostering and provide them with the knowledge and skills to meet the challenges with confidence. Experienced foster carers will be encouraged to deepen their understanding and further develop their abilities. Social workers who attend will continue their professional development by reflecting on these issues in depth and exploring alternative ways to support foster carers.
