Report of parliamentary taskforce on Kinship care

The Cross-party parliamentary taskforce on kinship care has published a report following its inquiry into kinship care in the UK. The report summarises research and evidence gathered by the taskforce and makes recommendations including: the government should extend the Adoption Support Fund so that all children being raised by kinship carers have the same rights to therapeutic support and counselling currently available to children who are adopted from care; and local authorities should provide comprehensive information to kinship carers about the options available to them and any support that they may be eligible for, including access to benefits advice.
