Child sexual exploitation

The Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland (SBNI) has published a report looking at how member agencies of the SBNI are responding to and managing child sexual exploitation (CSE) in Northern Ireland. Recommendations include: the assessment and management of CSE as a specific form of complex child sexual abuse should be managed within the existing child protection processes; that the current process of assessing a young person and placing them on a CSE list should be ceased; and action should be taken to improve and increase information sharing between agencies.
